No, Kyle has his team, and his grades, and student council to occupy his time and he'll fit his best friends in when he can and Eric has to be fine with that. No one else's happiness has mattered beside his own, but Kyle is different. He's always been the infuriating, all-consuming exception." Or, Kyle smiled at Eric once when they were ten years old and playing video games and nothing has been the same since.
