Summary
Wong smiles at Stephen. It is very much not the same smile he gives to Peter. This smile is filled with annoyance and the promise to exact bodily harm if Stephen doesn’t cut the shit.
“Strange,” he says, voice tight, “How would you like him to leave without any money? He has almost no possessions of value. What. Would. You. Like. Him. To. Do.”
“I mean,” Peter mumbles, “they have sentimental value, which I’d argue is the most valuable—”

After Strange's spell, Peter's tired of trying to beat his own luck. He gets it; Peter Parker isn't allowed to be happy. Peter Parker isn't allowed to live a life. He is here to be Spider-Man and nothing else. He's stuck in a funk, living day-to-day, the horrors of his pasts and the realities of the present bearing down on him harder with each passing day; his mind coming up with new ways to remind him that Peter Parker means nothing.However, unfortunately for him - or fortunate, depending on your perspective - the former Winter Soldier doesn't agree with this assessment. Shame he doesn't remember everything, though.

The Defender of Tomorrow lifts his hammer, palm practiced against its lithe stem.
Viktor continues, again pressing into his space like he can goad his partner into a fist fight, “Vik. V. What’s next? Darling? Dearest?”
Jayce’s grin is a thing of legend. Practiced to perfection. A weapon of its own design, made up of sharp curves and blunt blades, slicing his Defender’s face into a beautiful lethality. The arc of the hammer holds nothing in comparison to the mold of his smile. “You’d like that, wouldn’t you, sweetheart?”
OR. viktor is having dreams of doomed timelines. jayce is dreaming of having viktor in any way.

It takes two weeks before Viktor stops carrying the switchblade in his waistcoat pocket. A further two months before he stops feeling the lack of it like a child misses their blanket.
