Summary
There was a figure within, laid out on the ground in a startlingly casual manner. Arms pillowed his head, one leg propped up on the knee while a spaded tail swished back and forth, comfortable albeit bored. A purple tiefling was housed beyond the bars, skin littered with scars and tattoos, horns that curled about his face, long and knotted hair.
“I am here to speak with you,” Essek called. He started, as he always did, with a soft voice. Something welcoming, something comforting. It never worked the way he wanted.
The tiefling paused, tail stilling against the floor. Then he curled his legs against his chest and pumped them forward, using the momentum to surge up into a sitting position. With one black eye and a split lip, the smile he flashed was likely far less charming than he’d intended.

“I… not a nightmare,” Jon says. Tim squints at him, obviously puzzled. “It was a good dream. A… nice dream.” Tim continues to stare. “It was awful!” Jon bursts out. “I… I hate good dreams! I’d rather have the one where all the spiders are in my mouth again!”
There’s half a second of baffled silence, and then Tim’s face creases up in a huge grin. He claps Jon hard on the back and lets out a loud guffaw.
“Good one, boss!” he says. “You really had me going for a minute there!” He chortles and turns back towards the break room. “Hey, Sash, Marto, listen to this!”

Most children probably wouldn’t be found trying to strike up a conversation with something like a vacuum, microwave, or the hangers in their closet- but Nick just figures that his daughter is on the more imaginative side. His mom is nice about it and calls him “too sweet for his own good” while Danny calls him “pathetic.” All that matters though is that Tim is, in fact, a hopeless romantic (“Emphasis on hopeless,” his dad always quipped, earning a slap to the shoulder from his mom).
All this really means, though, is that Tim falls fast and hard for everyone. Usually, the crushes fade fairly fast, but sometimes there are crushes that just stick and as long as he’s around his object of affection, the crush will never fade.
And, unfortunately, The Magnus Institute seems to employ exclusively hot people.
