Her mother would never, ever hear from Mika’s mouth how much she struggled to make friends before she’d decided to remake herself into the shape of someone who might finally be loved. Mitsumi would never know about the small fountain of jealous resentment that still burbled away in the back of Mika’s mind. And no one, ever, could know about the way Mika still heard a voice in the back of her head telling her that her body would never be enough, no matter what she did to it.
But maybe Nao-san could.

Wonyoung is smiling up at said loser the same way she’d smiled at Yujin yesterday as she wound a lock of Wonyoung’s hair around her finger. Right before she’d leaned in for a kiss. Soft and sweet and familiar, like they’d done it a hundred times, because they had.
