Voldemort was killed at the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, and the darkness was meant to be gone. 6th year was supposed to be a fresh start.
However, with vengeful Death Eaters on the loose, and the stirrings of a plot within Hogwarts, the danger is far from over.
A quick word of advice: nothing is as it seems.

The Hermione detailed here is not entirely canon, I've come to realise - but, I believe she is a reasonable development from her original personality as described in the books by J.K. Rowling. My Hermione is infused with a few more vices than Rowling's, a few more personal demons, but the character I've cultivated interests me, and that's what matters.

There’s nothing to do but bite the bullet - so to speak- and Wilson could be an ally. The conversation is happening, the secrets are out, and House needs to know that Wilson’s going to be with him, even if he’d never admit it he wants that. Wilson’s staring at him with waves of ‘wanting to talk about it’ coming off him like radiation off the elephant's foot and so, with an uneven sigh, House asks, “What are we talking about first?”
Wilson’s jaw sets, his eyes darken unblinkingly as he leans ever further forward, “Are you suicidal?”

Most general writing advice is, at best, functional but woefully limited, and, at worst, too narrow and more reflective of personal predilections or biases to be of any use. It does not help that so little people have the vocabulary to analyse prose on a technical level.
Rather than provide literary prescriptions, I shall instead proffer this personal repository of prose analyses of various writers that I think are pretty neat. This is both a writer's notebook and a mini-course in prose.
One needs no gurus to advise you on how to write. The best way is, always, to turn to the works of those you deem masters, judge what is on the page, and apply it to your own style.

Summary
(Cannibalism is a hell of an eating disorder.) Hannibal and Will survive the fall, and are forced to hide away nursing their wounds, entirely cut off from their usual resources. At first their bond is only strengthened, but as scrounging for food becomes necessary, it becomes increasingly clear that Hannibal's obsessive eating habits aren't just a power play, but the only way he feels powerful at all. Will's not entirely prepared to handle decades of cannibal trauma over a can of soup, but he tries. Love wins, but in a canon-typical way.

Summary
Just as Will steps inside the Brooklyn Art Museum, the dead begin to rise.
Attempting to escape, Will finds Francis Dolarhyde, who has broken his leg while evading the zombies. Given the circumstances, it takes Will some time to clock him as the Red Dragon, but Dolarhyde knows exactly who Will Graham is.
They escape in Dolarhyde’s van and set out to find their loved ones, heading first for Molly’s home and then Reba’s.
Meanwhile, Hannibal is safe from the walking dead inside his glass cage; they can't get in but neither can he get out, and with all the BSHCI staff either dead or fled he is faced with the prospect of slow starvation.
All his hopes hinge on Will coming to see him again, but as the hordes of undead grow and civilization falls, road travel becomes increasingly more difficult, and Will doesn't know if he will make it there in time.

Rouge is woken up by the sound of her phone.
She had come home roughly two hours ago, exhausted by a two month recon mission, where she had countless sleepless nights and no comfort. She practically fell into her bed after her bath. Her fur was still damp when she drifted to sleep, the small TV in her room still on.
So naturally, she was curious as to who the fuck was calling her at 3 AM.
Especially because she knows everyone was told that she would be exhausted and tired, and she’s not the nicest when there’s a combo of those two things. She groans as she stretches, her back and neck aching. She must have gone to sleep in a shitty position. It takes her too long to reach and get her phone, the caller not deterring from her inability to answer in a timely manner. Her nails tap the screen as she answers, rubbing her eyes of sleep, and frustration.
“Blue, you better have a damn good reason to be waking me up right now.”
“I know, I’m sorry. But can you check on Shadow?”
