But the stranger did not concede so easily. "You yourself should have the answer. I believe I recognize you now. You are the slayer of Ifrit, are you not? I have heard the stories." The ice of his gaze was sharpening by the moment, brittle and bright like a glacier becoming molten as it refracted the kiss of the sun. "Tell me, what is a hero? You must know. You have become one, after all."
"I am the slayer of Ifrit," the Warrior acknowledged. "That does not make me a hero."

If you like Elidibus, EliWol or even just are looking for a good fic in the FFXIV fandom, PLEASE read this fic I BEG of you. It is hard to think of when I wouldn't've had a tab of this open on my phone for rereading since 4 years ago, when I first read the fic. I am obsessed with this portrayal of EliWol, the worldbuilding, the language, the masterful handling of themes and character development, everything! Enough selling, now go read peak fiction thank you :)
