“Even if the KaibaCorp press release states that we now have the King of Games under our employ, I’m not calling you that,” Kaiba says, making a face. “You can be—Game Research and Development, Special Division.”

Yuugi rubbed a finger over his nose. “Honestly, I don’t know why you’d bring me here. You don’t think I’m sophisticated enough for this, do you?”
Seto, who had witnessed the horrific sight of Yuugi and Jounouchi arguing over how long a fry could be on the floor before it was too gross to eat, snorted. “You said the other place was too tall. I thought this might make you feel—” He paused mid-word and then finished slowly, “less inadequate.”
“The private airplane and the gold-plated everything aren’t making me feel less inadequate, no,” Yuugi said, but a little apologetically.
Or: Almost a year after the Pharaoh has left, Yuugi comes to America for work. Seto is sure that he just wants to meet the King of Games to win against him. Yuugi wants to know what he wants to win at.

Kaito's farm is burned and salted under royal order, which prompts him to take up the title of Hero and go vanquish the demon prince who, everyone assures him, has been whispering madness into the divine Queen Junko's ear since the day she spared him execution as a thief and took him in as her son.
Kaito finds out pretty fast that his chances as a peasant of ever even getting to see the royals is minimal at best, and saving the queen impossible at worst. Until a masked thief's interference drastically changes both Kaito's odds... and the certainty of his goal.

Sometimes it feels like it’s painted inside his eyelids or framed somewhere on the back of his skull. It’s an image Kabru has always liked, ever since the day it got hung up. The king’s likeness captured near perfectly, with all his nervous edges buffed out. He looks like he belongs there.
