Summary
Phil Callahan has made a large variety of strange arrests in his time working as a cop for Hawkins, Indiana. Daylight skinny-dippers; a small group of old ladies who’d attempted to rob the corner shop with their umbrellas, a guy who’d stolen a total of eighteen gnomes from his suburban neighborhood.
But pulling over Max Mayfield driving her brother’s Camaro at the ripe age of thirteen was pretty insane. Sure, kids will be kids and kids will be crazy. Until Steve Harrington crawled out of the backseat, clutched his knees and horror-movie hurled blood all over his boots and shit got crazier.
That took it from a minor concern to oh, fuck. Callahan has to take this kid to a hospital.

Richie pulls Eddie forward until he’s straddling his lap and holds onto him for dear life. “What if he hates me or something, Eds?”
It’s quiet when he says it. Barely a whisper into Eddie’s neck. He hates admitting that he actually cares what some people think about him. But, to Eddie, he’d admit anything.

Mike and Richie are twins that were separated at birth.
Karen and Ted decide the best time to tell their son the truth is about a week before his twin is due to visit for the summer.

“BEEP BEEP, RICHIE. BEEP. BEEP.” Mike fumed, getting Richie in a headlock. Richie struggled for air.
“Um…” The boys paused, turning to look at Mike’s friends.
“What is going on?” Max questioned in disbelief.
OR: Mike's cousin comes to visit for the week, but the two look so similar that no one can tell them apart with a first glance.
Naturally, Richie uses this opportunity to the full extent (and only almost ruins Mike's life completely).

“Are you taking me back?” Dustin asks, nervously. He didn’t really consider that calling Steve to pick him up might involve Steve dropping him off back to Hawkins. He really doesn’t want to be there right now, he feels too much, everything is too much, too big, the future looming over him feels too intimidating.
“Not yet,” Steve says, and Dustin lets out a relieved breath. “I told her we can put you up for the night and then tomorrow we can figure out what to do, yeah?”
Dustin looks at him, the kind slope of his mouth, the worried lines on his forehead. He suddenly feels bad for upending Steve’s life like this. Surely he had plans for the day, maybe work or school, something he had to do that now has been interrupted by needing to save Dustin, again, but from himself rather than from alternate dimension monsters.
“Sorry, Steve.”
