Will Byers was never found. He was believed to be dead, and confirmed so when Joyce Byers and Chief Jim Hopper went looking for him in the Upside Down. Instead of finding Will, they found a single, detached eyeball.
Years later, during Crawl No.12, Hopper comes across something much more disturbing than any supernatural monster. Will Byers himself.**basically a rewrite of the series but if Will was never found. Will have to change a lot to make it work lol
