“Um. Okay,” Buck nods. “So - - you keep thinking about kissing someone you can’t kiss, and you want it to stop, right?”

    Eddie nods.

“Have you tried kissing someone else? See if that makes it go away?”

Or, Eddie can't stop thinking about kissing a mystery someone. Buck tries to help.

    "Buck, are you single?"

Eddie snorts, leaning back in his chair. "Pepa, don't start."

She swats him lightly on the shoulder. "Oh, Eddie, hush. I'm just curious," she says, a picture of innocence before she turns back to Buck with a raised eyebrow. "Well?"

    Summary

Eddie takes a slow sip of his coffee, nudging the second cup in Buck’s direction. “So…”

Buck grins, picking up the mug. “So.”

“I went to make breakfast this morning,” Eddie says casually, slowly, “thought about making eggs.”

Buck nods, not really following Eddie’s tone of voice. “Eggs sound good.”

“Went to the fridge to get the eggs…” Eddie walks in that direction, and Buck follows his gaze. His eyes land on the calendar, and he stills.

“And I saw this on the calendar.” He flicks it twice. “Kind of hard to miss it.”

    Summary

He’s still greedy, even now. Still can’t figure out how to loosen his grip on it just a little, knuckles white with how hard he’s holding on, but he’s trying so hard to give Eddie space and time because he asked for it, because when they got together, Eddie couldn’t seem to stop looking at him when he asked Buck to be patient with him, couldn’t hide the nerves from his voice, the vulnerability of his open chest, the honesty in his fingers against Buck’s wrist where he’d held on so gently as if he was afraid to come any closer. So Buck is trying, to just sink into having it rather than wanting more, to let it be enough rather than him being too much, and he’s been doing good, mostly. He’s been doing good.

    -

Or asking for what you want is asking too much of Buck, except it isn’t really. Not when it’s Eddie.
