“Sidon,” Yona says. She looks at him differently now, he can feel it. It makes him feel like worms are crawling beneath his skin.
”…Yona,” Sidon says. He looks at her differently now, he has to. It makes him feel dirty inside. Dirtier than the sludge falling from the sky, polluting their waters.
Yona bows, “I am humbled to be your bride.” Sidon feels like he is rooted in place. This is not Yona. This is not him. They are not getting married. They can’t be doing this.
”Same as I,” He says. The air is tense. Their dynamic is shattered, the relationship that they had built over centuries ruined and desecrated.
Sidon feels sick.
Yona looks the same as she always has.
Sidon is Yona’s brother, first and foremost. He is her fiancé, when she calls him ‘love,’ and ‘darling.’

After a long several seconds of silence, Trucy says, "Apollo?"
"Yeah?"
She bites her lip for a second, then says all in a rush, "We're ten years in the past, you just got hired to work at the same law office as my dad--only he's not my dad yet, he's not even a lawyer yet--and we're pretending to be siblings."
This sits in the space between them for a few seconds. Then Apollo lets out a long sigh and nods. "Yeah," he says. "That pretty much sums it up."
The day after Wrocky's trial, Apollo Justice wakes up stranded ten years in the past with Trucy Wright. Somehow, things only get more complicated from there.

Summary
Phoenix harbours no illusions that getting his badge back is going to be an easy task, even if the hardest part of clearing his name is technically over. He's fully aware that his reinstatement is going to be a bit more complicated than just passing the bar and is going to be more of a case of:
Step 1: Save money to retake bar exam
Step 2: Study frantically to pass said bar exam
Step 3: Pass bar exam
Step 4: Hope and pray that he'll somehow be able to still pull in clients after his reputation got burned to the ground
Step 5: Haircut
Step 6: New suit
Step 7: Finally, finally confess his passionate love for Edgeworth that has been eating him up inside for the past 25 years
Step 8: ???? Lawyer???Thankfully he has a pretty solid support network of people willing to help him out. And if Edgeworth has anything to say about it, they'll probably be able to cut out a few of those steps along the way.
Which is why Phoenix promises himself one thing. If he passes the bar again, he is absolutely going to kiss the Chief Prosecutor square on the lips. Whatever happens after that, they'll just have to wait and see.
