Summary
Lake Como, Carla had said. Do you remember those horny little Italian boys?
She tried making her face into something cheerful, warm, like the memories hadn’t become bitter, already blooming with rot. Yes, she remembered. She remembered the heat, the way it made her skin feel like it was shattering into a million pieces. She remembered the Italian boys. The beautiful ones, the small ones. The brutal. She remembered fucking them and being bored and talking about fucking them and being bored of that, too. She remembers laughing about it with Carla over dinner. She remembers the quiet, how her thoughts made no sound by the water. How time became a motionless thing. “It was fun.” She tells Carla, except that was only half of the truth.
The real fun had been learning how to dance.

“My daughter can’t give me a daughter? That’s fine.” He’d been in a better mood that night, kissing her almost gleefully, brushing the curls back from her face. “I’ll just marry her instead.”

Summary
And now, she really was his, ring and all, Morley to Mayhew, and it had been another summer night, soft and warm, when Mr. Mayhew had crawled up to her, Mrs. Mayhew, (would Emma ever get tired of hearing that?) kissing her with that boyish tenderness she so desperately loved and hated, the one that made her want to crawl out of her own skin, that made her want to ride him until he’d have to use a bloody wheelchair for the rest of the month, when he said to her, well, whispered really, “I’m going to put a baby in you.”

Summary
It's been about a year since the barrier fell, and a lot has changed - though not in very surprising ways. People are still jerks to anyone new and different, you're still freaked out by the idea of getting serious with anyone, your job is still weird and awesome. Oh, and your cat still has seriously no chill.
Also there is skeleton dong and small corporate politics.
"But it's too long!" You say. That's exactly the sort of attitude that stops me from making boxed mac and cheez when EasyMac's right there. Don't be like me. If you're going to indulge in trash, commit to it, man.
I mean also eventually the plotting gets so tight you could bounce a quarter off it.Book One: Skarmageddon --- Chapters 1 - 92
Book Two: Even Skarmier --- Chapters 93 - 170
Epilogue shit --- 171 to like, whatever
