You turn your head this way and that, admiring the gleam of silver, and despite your watery eyes you smile.
“I've been wondering whether these little ears are just for decoration,” Caleb teases from behind you, “when you pretend not to hear me when I say it's time to do your chores. But now they're actually decorated.”
