Summary
It truly was a beautiful day. Gorgeous, even. When Shouta looked up, there wasn’t a single cloud in the sky. A cloudless sky after winning such a gruesome war should’ve been a positive thing — a sign that maybe things were beginning to change for the better. New beginnings. However, all Shouta felt was pain. It was an ache deep in his chest, playing a xylophone melody across his ribs that sounded suspiciously similar to how Oboro would laugh. Light and carefree, like sunshine incarnate.
OR: Aizawa and Yamada mourning what they’ve lost after the war is over.

Summary
Unbeknownst to Shouta, it wasn’t a fever. Well, not one in need of medical attention or anything. No, Oboro was entranced by the sight of Shouta post-patrol. The full-body blush sneaking down under the hem of his shirt was making a valiant effort to turn him into a human tomato.
But it wasn’t his fault! How could anybody blame him when Shouta looked that good coming off patrol? His poor heart couldn’t take it.
“Yeah,” Oboro eventually choked out, blinking back to reality and holding onto the fridge door for dear life. His throat was suspiciously dry. “Y-Yeah, no, I’m all good man. Just, uh, tired. My fan broke. Like right before you walked in. That’s why I’m red. No other reason.”
OR: 3 times Hizashi, Oboro and Shouta were pining idiots and 1 time they did something about it.

Summary
Settled on the cooler ground with Shouta in the middle, Hizashi piped up in amusement. “Oh, oh! Maybe we remind him of a distant relative he had a long, drawn out rivalry with, so he channels those unresolved feelings onto us.”
Oboro nodded very seriously, but Shouta just chuckled in shared amusement.
“What, all three of us? Seems a little far fetched. I think he just hates us.”
“Hate us ‘cause he ain’t us, bro,” refuted Hizashi, who then grinned smugly and held up a hand. “Up top!”
Shouta merely eyed it with mild disdain and left him hanging. Ever the mediator, Oboro cackled and gave his friend the high five. He tried not to think about how soft Hizashi’s hands were or what it would be like to intertwine his fingers with the other teen’s.
OR: rooftop trio shenanigans with lots of gay pining. yay!

Summary
Shouta, who was now standing beside Hizashi’s cot, glanced down at the blond and tilted his head thoughtfully. The action reminded Hizashi of their calico cat Mochi, but he was wise enough to never voice that connection aloud. Shouta would stop doing it if he knew Hizashi found it cute. Several beats of silence passed as he eyed Hizashi up and down, up and down, then...
“You look like shit.”
Hizashi snorted, unable to help himself before rolling his eyes in good nature.
“Gee, thanks,” he grumbled with the barest hint of a smile. “Right back ‘atcha.”

Summary
“Sensei, I just—” Midoriya choked out, and wow, Shouta was not prepared for how wrecked this kid sounded. His voice wavered and was utterly hoarse, like he’d been screaming himself raw.
Dread settled in Shouta’s stomach at the mere thought. He really hoped it was just a figure of speech and not an accurate description.
It appeared Midoriya hadn’t actually planned this far ahead though, because he cut himself off with a sigh and deflated just enough to make Shouta’s chest pang with an emotion he didn’t recognise and didn’t care to identify. When Midoriya spoke again, his voice was significantly more defeated than before.
“I can’t sleep.”

It was puzzling, really.
Every visit, his knuckles rapped against the same door at the same time with the same request. The same fleeting (foolish) hope that maybe today would be the day. Today would be different.
