Summary
He left the train at Kichijoji, deciding to walk the rest of his way home. He wasn’t sure why he did it, but when he passed Jazz Jin he was spotted by Muhen who was currently taking a smoke outside.
“Hey, Akechi-kun”, he said with a genuine, kind smile.
“It’s been a while. You must have been quite busy, huh? You should come visit again one of these days, drinks are on me. Oh, and bring your friend again, will you?”
Muhen laughed warmly, putting out his cigarette before he headed back inside the jazz club.
His friend? He must have meant Kurusu. Muhen was right, it had been a while since he had last brought Kurusu here. They should meet up at Jazz Jin again.
Oh, right. They couldn’t meet up anymore. Kurusu was dead.

Summary
Mydei’s right here, right beside Phainon, like he always is, haughty and annoying and stupid and- he's alive.
Alive- so why can't Phainon stop having vivid nightmares of spilled golden blood, a wound to the back incapable of healing-
Of Mydei laying lifeless on the council grounds?
(Or, Phainon starts having horrifyingly visceral nightmares of a past unfamiliar to him, and slowly begins to piece together that there is something more nefarious lurking behind both the Flame Reaver and Amphoreus than the Chrysos Heirs originally imagined.)

Summary
Phainon may have started panicking. At the bare minimum, he felt blindsided— Mydei was purposefully being combative, despite Phainon having been nothing but amicable, and now he was making it sound like Phainon was the one in the wrong.
So he did the most logical thing he could think of in response, of course— acting before really thinking about it— and demonstrated his willingness to participate in what he'd perceived to be a provocation from the Crown Prince—
He undid the knot holding the tiny modesty towel in place—the pristine white fabric fell, and with it, so did Mydeimos's gaze.
“Oh,” Mydei answered eloquently, an odd expression crossing his face as he stared unabashedly, while Phainon, much more abashedly, allowed him to.
Be it through ignorance or wishful thinking, Phainon interprets Mydei's shamelessness as a direct provocation to settle the score between them, following the event of their ten-day, ten-night battle resulting in a draw.

Summary
“Again.” He poked one fang now, slowly running the soft pad of his index finger over it, enjoying the irritated look on Mydei’s face, the way his brows were wrinkling in concentration. “Slowly.”
“If you want to keep your fingers in my mouth so badly, just ask next time.”
Phainon wrenched his hand away at an impressive speed, eyes wide, ears ringing. “What?”
Mydei did not break eye contact, leveling his gaze at Phainon until Phainon looked away. He pretended his ears did not burn at the quiet laughter that followed. “You are possibly the least subtle person I have met, Deliverer.”
OR: Phainon baits a lion. He doesn’t count on how much the lion likes to bite.
