Kurama lets his youki open fully, pressing it into Hiei with intention. The contact sharpens, heat bleeding into heat, energy threading deeper than before.
Hiei gasps, his hands sliding up Kurama’s bare back, nails digging in reflexively. “That—that’s not—”
“Necessary?” Kurama finishes softly.
“Yes,” Hiei snaps breathlessly. His voice comes out low and strained. “I can’t focus when you’re this close.”
“Then don’t.”
When a routine mission leaves Hiei critically injured, Kurama must find him. In the frozen mountains, survival demands shared heat, shared energy, and a level of vulnerability Hiei never planned to voice. What begins as rescue becomes something far more intimate.
