    Summary

After a suicide attempt, Dazai is cast away to work at the lighthouse his great uncle had owned in the north of the mythical Shimane prefecture. He's not even in the town, he's three nautical miles away from the nearest port, always overlooking a populace that he supposes he can never be a part of.

Dazai finds that this esoteric ward he does not acknowledge offers more surprises than creeping loneliness. When the body of a man washes up on his beach, it seems that fortune has offered him a hand in repairing a piece of himself he has come to tolerate through the eyes of someone who has no idea what it means to be a human.

    Summary

Dazai Osamu has devised the perfect plan to get the Akarukute Yokohama Senior High School administration to stop calling his adoptive fathers about his poor attendance: get an in with the attendance office and get them to fudge his records. The staff member who runs the office, the legendarily vindictive Mr. Verlaine, is a lost cause. That’s not a problem though, because Dazai knows exactly how to circumvent him. All he needs to do is befriend his little brother, Nakahara Chuuya.

Chuuya, however—"I told you not to call me that, asshole!"—is intent on making that as difficult as possible.

Or, a silly little high school AU about two stupid teenage boys who show each other that there's more to life than their insular worlds where everything is hard and fall in love along the way.

    Summary

He thinks about Chuuya more than he breathes. His coppery hair. Sometimes Dazai wants to ask for a lock of it to be burnt with him when he dies, so he may use it as coin for the journey ahead. Then he would steal it back and keep it with him, so that he never forgets its exact hue, the way he used to watch it burn dazzling gold with sundown at the pier. So that he never forgets those far-and-few-between instances when he felt glad simply looking at Chuuya. And those eyes. God. Dazai will remember those eyes when even love eventually forgets its own name. His pale hands and paler wrists. The coffee colour on the backs of them, full of spite for the little sunlight they get. Bird-house bones. Hollow, so that he can flit off at a moment’s notice, dance away the apocalypse shaking his skeleton. Chuuya is the bloom and the serpent. The god and the convict. His fist-sized heart and all the black eyes it deals.

(Or, of course Dazai knows how to chop an onion. He just wants to hear Chuuya laugh.)

Being sat down on Chuuya's couch for a Kissing 101 lesson is definitely not what Dazai envisioned for his day, but here he is.

"Ya want to kiss me so bad it makes you look and sound stupid, so fine by me."

Or: Dazai never kissed anyone. Chuuya offers to help him practice.

    Summary

“Listen,” Lily started. “I’m not mad. I just want to know who did it.”

That was a lie. She was a bit mad. Well, maybe not mad mad, but she was definitely fed up. Minor irritations over the course of several days on top of an already busy schedule would do that. Also, she’d found a dried green bit of something in her oatmeal that morning, and that had been the final straw. Whether it came from the bowl or the pot she cooked it in didn’t matter; what mattered was the true culprit, and restitution.
