Maria Hill does not do relationships. Hell, with her never-ending work needed to get done, she hardly has time to sleep or breathe. Relationships are far out of the window, she could not think of something she would want less.
Natasha Romanoff has never been in a relationship. She has no experience, and honestly, she's kind of curious. But she would never openly admit it. She doesn't know how they work, so why would she seek one out?

Summary
Maria only had the honor of meeting Peggy Carter a few times in her life, and she still thinks about those days she spent with her all the time.
“You remind me of myself,” Peggy told her, once, when they grabbed drinks – the only time they grabbed drinks.
Peggy was fully grey by then, with a perfect red lip and sorrow in her eyes, and Maria wondered if this would be her one day: a decorated woman with medals heavy with regret. Part of her knows it will be, but at least Peggy has stories, which means that Maria will too. She noticed that Peggy still wore two watches: one for Steve and one for her, to mark the time when they were in different places, to see if there might be a moment where they could find time for a 25 cent phone call.
Maria wonders if she’ll ever have a reason to want to know the time in more than one place. She’s not sure. Her closest relationships have always been the other soldiers in her unit. To this day, she thinks about what Peggy told her about the Howling Commandos, about adventure and choices, about always doing what is right – or to at least die trying.
(Or, a Maria Hill character study about learning to throw a punch and learning to take a hit, about doing what's right.)
