The partner in question was one Mr Crowley. Notorious for his all black get up and wild hair, he was as dynamic in his style and appearance as Mr Fell was constant. Complete opposites in aesthetics and tastes. That’s of course why the two were attracted to one another.

Or so everyone said. The thing was, Crowley and Aziraphale had talked after their respective trials, drinking copious amounts of alcohol as a celebration. They were on their own sides.

Truly. They could do what they wanted, be what they wanted. See each other, dine with each other, as much as they wanted.

    They were free.

Or: Aziraphale and Crowley move to the South Downs, hijinks ensue, and there's discussion of what the two are

The point is, I appreciate that Pin-Lee doesn't do small talk. I hate small talk. She just messaged me Could use your help with something, if the Perihelion can spare you. Simple. To the point. She put in a caveat that it was fine if I had more important things to do so I knew not to panic. I appreciated it.

    Summary

In Crowley’s opinion, demonic summonings are a necessary evil. The Satanic nuns can’t exactly ring down to Hell’s call routing office when they need to get in touch, so an occasional bit of summoning is the best compromise for both sides.

Of course, Crowley finds he has significantly less patience for the practice when the person doing the summoning isn’t actually a Satanic nun and doesn’t actually know how to end the blasted summoning afterwards. No demon would ever have signed off on the practice if it didn’t have an end, which very much ought to include getting to switch out of his demonic shape and go back to having hands. He liked having hands.

A story in which Aziraphale’s already unappealing bookshop becomes even more unappealing with the addition of a cranky snake. Banter ensues.

    Summary

Take, for instance, the couple she’s consulting with this afternoon, for their upcoming October ceremony. Seemingly mismatched in every respect. The plump, fair-haired one looks like a parody of an absent-minded professor, as sketched by someone who didn’t bother to do much actual research; his clothes are so outdated it teeters on costume. He’s wearing a bow tie, and not in that reinvented hipster way. This is a bow tie unacquainted with the cycles of fashion, a bow tie that has never heard the word irony.

His partner is a rangy, black-clad ginger in snakeskin boots. He has the look of a hungover rocker about him, and would somehow, even without the sunglasses he has fully committed to wearing indoors on a cloudy afternoon. He’s sprawled almost defiantly in his chair and keeps throwing dubious glances around Dr. Blackwell’s office, as though expecting a lightning bolt to strike him down for merely daring to be within spitting distance of a church.

    Summary

When The End comes for real, it’s just as Crowley supposed, with Heaven and Hell united against humanity.

    ...

They stare down the Morning Star across the open expanse of the soon to be battlefield, humanity behind them, as much of it sheltered beneath their wings as they can manage.

And then the Heavenly forces begin to sing.
