Summary
Blood—All Dean remembers of the incident is blood, and all he feels is the pain of wounds he can't see unless Sam holds a mirror up to his back. Banishing Castiel away from Billie and the Entity worked, maybe a little too well. Meanwhile halfway across the country, a mysterious man washes up in the middle of a freak storm off the Florida coast, paralyzed and mute, but with the ability to tell his nurse just who he is.
Almost half a world away, Castiel crashlands, and Dean believes in his heart that he killed him. But the world is small, and maybe, just maybe, for once, Dean is wrong.

Summary
Castiel’s eyelids are shut. Somewhere in the back of the mounting scream in Dean’s mind he realizes that he’s looking at a corpse and every muscle in his body dissolves.
Before he too, hits the ground beside his immobile younger brother, the corpse blinks.
They both leap to their feet and sprint forward immediately. “Get him down,” they gasp to each other at the same time. Sam goes to pull out the pins in his ankles while Dean hooks his arms under Castiel’s to hold him up so he won’t tear his palms when the weight sags.

“While I appreciate the sentiment-” That was as far as he got before she spotted his little predicament–emphasis on little.
“Who’s this, then?” she said, studying the tiny heap of blankets and misery curled up on his couch with open interest, a slight crease of concern between furrowed brows.
Roy shoved his hands into his pants pockets and wandered over to join her.
“This is Ed. He took a dip into the river the other day, and here we are,” he said, and his mother turned to regard him with one of those looks he had never, and probably would never, be able to decipher.
Despite her open and well-deserved distaste for them, that woman was a politician at heart.
“This is your little menace?”

Successfully killing Lilith and keeping Dean out of Hell has the brothers ready for a good, old-fashioned, hunter-on-demon brawl. It's time to get back to the basics, back to the way things used to be, when monsters got ganked and that was the end of things. That said, they are not ready for a new kind of creature to appear in the middle of their fight, covered in blood and begging for mercy they aren't supposed to give.
Meanwhile, Castiel is panicking. He's been tortured senseless for four decades straight, and now he's been thrown down in front of two hunters. Cas keeps biting his lower lip. Dean doesn’t know if it’s a new habit or not (he never got to see human Cas before the weeks of torture). He tells Cas to stop whenever he sees it, but it clearly happens when he’s not around, and frequently, because Cas’ lip is starting to look like a discolored strip of raw meat and dark blood stains.
Charlie buys different flavors of lip balm online and has Cas try each one to find the kind he likes.
“Put it on whenever you feel like biting your lips,” she says, buying several extra tubes of Burt’s Bees so he can put one in each pocket of his clothes.
