Everyone has a soulmate. Someone they will connect with on such an intimate level that they are like one mind in two bodies. It comes on the cusp of adulthood, a shared link between two minds. It will start with feelings, emotions shared across the connection. Some people claim senses; smell and sound. Those who are thoroughly, intensely intertwined can claim to send their very thoughts towards each other, although it’s generally considered bad luck to use the connection to find each other sooner than you are meant to.
It is a wonderful thing, to know that no matter who you are or what you’ve done, somebody out there will understand you. Or at least, it’s supposed to be.

Wilson’s eyes widened, heat creeping up his neck. He felt like leaving the room, but that would be ridiculous, so he held his ground and kept staring wide-eyed at the patient.
“Good try, but I could totally have it if I wanted it,” House deflected, not looking over at Wilson.
But Wilson was looking at House now. House was looking at the patient, his neck was red, and his Adam’s apple bobbed with a hard swallow.
Insanely, the thought bouncing around in Wilson’s head was, How was this the first time this had happened to them?
