    Summary

A sequel to “In the Year of Hagoromo Chalk.”

With their relationship maturing, Carol Aird and Therese Belivet float into the summer of 1963 at Apartment 601, 500 Madison Avenue. They carve space physically and emotionally for a new “family” member. Despite the joys, dark clouds and a few mysteries linger. Decisions must be made; truths faced. Therese, tough yet fragile, procrastinates in seeking health care, thus frustrating loved ones. Carol embraces their future, but is she still tethered to her past? Can they stay the course? If there is one thing they know too well, life has its heavens and hells as they prepare for the Year of the Dragon.

This is a sequel/continuation of “In the Year of Hagoromo Chalk.” It can be read as a standalone, but for greater clarity, reading “In the Year of Hagoromo Chalk” will help.

    Summary

A series of one-shots (or snapshots) into Carol and Therese's lives, set during and after my story 'Perpetual Sunrise'. (Please give it a read if you haven't already - it may provide some needed context.)

This won't be following a set story line or arch.

    Summary

Therese removed the napkin to find a blush-tinted imprint of Carol’s lips on the glass’s rim. She shrugged to Dannie as though she wasn’t crushed inside by this complete stranger’s departure, and grabbed the glass as casually as if on bar-back duty, going away to clean it. But she didn’t do that.

Once out of sight, her body acted on some deep, animal impulse before she could stop it. She pressed her lips to Carol’s lingering ones and tipped the drink back, letting its smooth, rich flavor slide down her throat, until all of it was inside her. It was strong. It was good.

She went to dry her guilty mouth with the napkin, but black ink on its underside caught her eye.

    Great taste.

    Goddamnit.

This was the last thing she needed. This was exactly what she’d wanted.

This was going to be a fucked up summer.

I wanted to expand on Sharon's "you never sleep that deeply" line. Glimpses of what she could've meant by that.
