Alamut's surrounding mountains bear a more graceful truth than he can give it; his languid trace and all that comes after is indeed measurable to nature, albeit not nearly as pristine. Not nearly as delicate.
Its slopes accept the impressions of many who take the hike, and furthermore, those who take it often. Pleasure stands an uphill climb, the labour a wage in itself — or so it goes, inferred by covert discussions retrieved by attentive ear. The summit is said to be a wonder: a resplendent view like nothing to ever exist. Doubly so in company. Importantly in company.
Basim could not feel more removed from a concept. In nigh every form.

Oh, this is beautiful every which way. What if I cried here and now, what then ? The switching perspectives was so smooth. I love them all, I love them all so much - and so did they to one another. The tragedy in Basim knowing how loved he was too late is so- *chef's kiss* The intricate intertwining of every sense and the myriad of complex feelings among them all goes insanely hard, too. Basim, Eivor and Hytham are done so much justice in this fic, I'm so so joyful. Just wonderfully written !!!! 🩷
