Summary
XChara, shortly before the time when he was going to be fused with Frisk, was somehow able to universe hop using Overwrite. Or at least that's what he imagined happening.
The universe in question is Glitchtale, where he lives for several months before monsters arrive. Once that happens, he does make introductions to people, going outside more, but is still slightly recluse.
Shortly after, Betty's actions begin but instead of killing Sans in the AMD surveillance room the police, mainly Undyne, arrive and capture her. With help from Gaster her magic abilities are subdued using a collar and shes held within one of the high security rooms of a reformatory because Frisk was adamant that she could be saved.
There are several options on who could cover it but most, if not all, were caught up within the drama between the AMD and monsters, only worsened by Betty's actions. Frisk suggests XChara, knowing of his true origin and similar qualities to Chara, and he ends up the one trying to reform her.
This fic includes my own interpretation of Betty, which is largely based in canon material but with personal changes. Also I'm trying my best with XChara not sure if I have it right
