The turbulence continues for 13.9 seconds. During that time, I should have checked on my other humans through my drones. I should have reached out to the hopper to steer it for the human pilots, who were not as well-equipped to process inputs during the violent shaking. I do neither of these things. Something about holding Iris like this—her weight on top of me, her hair pressing against my face, my lungs filling with the smell of her—has short-circuited something in my systems. Performance reliability, paradoxically, rises several points from its recent dismal average of 94% to a reasonable 97%.

I thought of ARTs wormhole transit times rapidly decreasing due to its remnant exposure. I didn’t feel more powerful, did I? Could I do something like that? What would the equivalent be for sentient killware?

2.0 lives and is kind of a teenage badass. It has inherited all the ruthless killing power of both its parents and also all of their angst and awkwardness (Its figuring it out, okay?) The corporate rim really doesn't stand a chance.
