But something clicks, and Mikey is almost pulled into a trace-like state every time. He needs to keep walking, his instincts would tell him every time. Keep walking. You’ll find home soon.”

Box turtles will keep walking in attempt to find their home if they ever get lost, even if they die doing it. Mikey shares that same instinct.
When he gets lost, he keeps walking. He finds home.TLDR: Mikey centric angst where he keeps walking despite growing weaker.

Years ago, when Splinter took the turtles from the burning lab, Baron Draxum gave chase. In the chaos, two turtles where dropped, and Splinter never forgave himself for the loss.
He raised his remaining sons while keeping an eye on the dangers lurking in the hidden city. Mostly to reassure himself that he at least kind of knows whats going on with everyone that's trying to kill him. When Splinter finds out about an up and coming young gladiator with familiar striped markings, he feels nothing but dread.-HIATUS-

“What the fuck?” Bucky rose to his feet.
The kid tried to run, but Sam caught the rugrat and restrained him.
“Let me go!” The kid struggled. “My dad isn’t going to pay any ransom. You’re just wasting your time.”
Ransom? Facial recognition?
Bucky stared at the kid—really looked at his face.
Amber eyes, oval face, olive skin, strong but narrow chin, a slightly larger than normal forehead, and a nose somewhere between small and medium in size.
“Oh, fuck. Tony?”
The tears were back in Tony’s eyes. “Fuck you, you assholes!” He wiggled one arm free and punched Sam in the kneecap.
