Bruce looks over at him and furrows his brow.
“Clark, we have dinner together all the time. We’re having dinner together on Sunday.”
“Not… not with the kids.” Clark takes another breath. “I meant just- just you and me.”
He smiles nervously.

Clark is happy.
He’s a part of the world and helping it. He’s surrounded by friends and loved ones. And he’s learning more about himself every day. He was truly happy for once in his life, in a way that was fleeting after his powers started coming in.
Clark wouldn’t ask for more, but he can’t deny he still feels alone in the universe.
But the choice to change that is not a choice he’s given. His choice, as always, comes after the fall.
