Summary
Peter squints at it. It’s unnaturally vibrant, standing out against the sea of mainly monochrome suits and dresses with its red-to-orange gradient. Pierced on the rim is a slice of orange, along with a cherry and a somehow lavish miniature umbrella. Something about it makes Peter feel uneasy.
Tony sees his scrutiny. “It’s fine,” He assures, “I had these all the time when I was your age.”

“That isn’t reassuring.”“It’s a mocktail,” He amends, “It’s just, like, way too much fruit juice and some club soda. Look, there’s even a little umbrella. I had to ask for that, you know.”
Something still feels wrong, but Tony has been holding the drink out for so long it’s starting to get awkward, and Peter is grateful for the gesture, so he takes it.

Reading the room is unfortunately not one of Tony’s strong suits. He scrunches his nose. “Becoming Spider-Man made you scared of spiders?”
“Yeah, well, becoming Spider-Man almost killed me, so…”
His mentor's lips tip down into a frown. “You never said anything about that.”
“You never asked,” he argues. If he were less flustered, he would be able to see Tony’s worry more clearly from under the curiosity. He shrugs as Tony brings the spider completely back to himself, all attention on him. “You asked how I became Spider-Man, and I told you I got bitten.”

Peter turns and hands Tony a plastic container filled with ice.
“Finger,” he finishes feebly but he already has his answer.
Rested on top of the ice slowly turning the area red is a severed finger— Peter's severed finger; unnaturally pale, and still, and evidently not attached to the rest of the boy's body.
He offers a lopsided smile that doesn’t quite reach his eyes. “Now you see why I couldn’t do it myself.”

Summary
Not long after Eddie's death and the remaining Loser's return from Derry, Richie finds himself in a rut. Depressed, grieving, and recovering from the whole ordeal, he turns to alcohol. A dumb decision leads to the mix of alcohol and medication, a nap too void-like to be real, and suddenly he's back at the Jade Orient. Oh, and Eddie's alive.

“It’s not mine, it’s… it’s Eddies,” his voice is trembling like the hands that grab Steve by the wrists to stop his fussing. Hiccups interrupt his words, but he powers through. “You gotta help him, Steve, please. Please help him.”

Steve nods, taking in the way Dustin doesn’t dare look away from his eyes, purposely avoiding the bloodied Eddie on the ground. “Okay,” he presses his forehead to Dustin's, successfully trapping them in their own little world, and whispers. “I’ve got him. I’ve got you.”OR: Eddie is in a coma, and steve has plenty of time in the hospital to figure out his feelings (with some help from robin)

Summary
The mission that Steve and Bucky are on gets shot to hell when Bucky gets seriously injured and they need to get out of there, stat. Even with the Avengers acting fast and doing what they can to save him, it's up in the air as to whether Bucky will survive the hit. And Steve doesn't know what he's going to do if Bucky doesn't walk out that door.
Or, Steve learns that friends are the family you choose, and that his teammates are so much more than just that. Especially Bucky.

When the straw makes an awful scraping sound at the bottom of the cup, Barnes puts the cup down and stares some more. "You don't..." a squeak erupts and he clears his throat before continuing, "you don't have to be scared of me. I'm not going to hurt you."
Sam snorts. "My broken wing and the shoe print on my chest say otherwise."

His ribs and legs were screaming for a break and he didn‘t have the strength to ignore them.
He sank down in the shadow of a chimney, resting his back against it. His head tilted back and eyes closed of their own accord.
He knew he really shouldn‘t fall asleep here, but it couldn‘t hurt to just rest his eyes a little bit …

Whumptober2020 - Day 1
“What a dick.”
Peter turned his head, wincing when brilliant pain struck his skull like an ice pick being shoved into it. He squeezed his eyes shut and held his head still, waiting for the pain to stop before he opened them again. When he did, he followed the voice. With the man gone, Peter could clearly see the other captive: a teenage boy with sandy brown hair who was across the room with his hands chained to a radiator in front of him --- in front of him, not above his head like Peter’s hands were.
He looked Peter’s age and ordinary enough, but ordinary tended to stop applying to people who were kidnapped.

Peter Parker meets Harley Keener under less than ideal circumstances: Harley Keener, who also seems to know Tony Stark. Being held for ransom together makes a pretty unique first impression.
