Sie hatten Wochen auf See vor sich, wieder einmal, und auch wenn sein Fell dicker geworden war und er über zwei Jahre auf die harte Tour gelernt hatte, im Zweifelsfall die Fresse zu halten, war es immer kritisch zwischen ihnen beiden geblieben. Erestor kommt aus dem Nichts, und zum Ende des ersten Zeitalters wird er auch wieder im Nichts verschwinden. Dazwischen liegen: Gondolin und seine verschiedensten Bewohner, die ihm alles zeigen, was das Leben unter den Noldor so unvergleichlich dramatisch macht: Intrigen, Kriege, Wissenschaft, die Liebe und wie man an ihr völlig zugrunde geht. Doch Erestor ist unsterblich, und die Götter haben ihre Pläne mit ihm, sodass es selbst dann noch weiterzugehen scheint, wenn er am Boden liegt. //Ein uraltes und sehr langes Projekt von mir, das sich in ständiger Überarbeitung befindet.

Ein angetrunkener junger Mann versucht Ehrenberg aufzureißen und er lässt es zu. Franz ist hübsch, willig und genau das, wovon Ehrenberg in manch einsamer Nacht träumt.
Nur hat Ehrenberg nicht erwartet, seinen gestrigen Bettgefährten als Kommandanten von U-949 wiederzusehen.
Oder: Ehrenberg und Buchner treffen sich vor dem Bankett ohne zu wissen, wer der andere ist. Sie laufen trotzdem gemeinsam aus.

"You're dead!" Steve blinks, rubs at his eyes, blinks again. That's it, he's officially lost it. He's seeing things. Maybe Vecna's back, or something, making him hallucinate, because why else would he be seeing a very much alive Eddie Munson right now? A very much alive Eddie Munson who's staring at him from where he's hunched under his desk, his hair everywhere and his eyes strangely liquid, yelling at him for breaking his records, of all things.
"Evidently not." Eddie says, gesturing a lazy hand over himself and trying a sharp-toothed smile but mostly just looking exhausted and scared.
