Summary
At five, Yuuji had a best friend that no one else could see. But he could.
His name was Satoru.
Satoru was the one who held his hand on the way to school, the one who carried him soaring through the night sky, the one who chased away nightmares, shielding him from all dangers, both visible and invisible.
To Yuuji, it was nothing unusual. Satoru was real. He always had been. His imaginary friend.
By the time he turned ten, Satoru vanished, suddenly and without warning.
He was left alone in a world that saw him as strange, unsettling, cursed. His mother told him his friend had never existed, that he was just a curse, an illusion to be banished.
At twenty, Yuuji no longer remembers his imaginary friend at all, but he meets a man who proves him that he loved him even before he was born.

Summary
The end of the war was silent. There were no cheers, no joy, no celebration, nothing. Just a cold realization that the war was over, but so many had been lost and the path to rebuilding Soul Society was going to a long, hard one. In the midst of it all, the 4th division has a problem. Kurosaki Ichigo is in a coma after his final battle with Yhwach, but they can't afford to lose a bed when so many are injured. Most of Soul Society is in ruins, so none of the divisions can take him in either. So what were they going to do?
Captain Kuchiki Byakuya owes the young hero more than he will ever say and therefore, offers his Estate as a place for Ichigo to rest and heal. The new Captain Commander agrees to this proposal, but what no one knows is that there is a plot, a dangerous plot to finish off the hero once and for all. For once, the Protector will need the protecting.
