Summary
It happened, ironically, at a moment when Johnny was feeling good. Almost one month to the day, Johnny had found himself kissing Peter Parker at the very top of the Statue of Liberty. Their spot since they were sixteen, and Peter had finally kissed him at it, Johnny’s secret daydream since he’d been twenty-years-old and soaking wet, tied up in a water tower back-to-back with Spider-Man.
It had been perfect, and everything that came after it only seemed to get better.
Which was, of course, when a psychic vampire attacked Rockefeller Center, because that was what Johnny’s life was like.

The first time Peter learned about Johnny’s new digs, they’d just finished a fight – or rather, Peter had just finished the fight, because Johnny had passed out on him after a hastily executed fire show and would’ve met a bad end if Peter hadn’t caught him.
So now, ranting concrete monster safely in police custody, Peter was sitting on the sidewalk, one arm around Johnny so he didn’t fall over, trying to force him to drink the bottle of water he’d been well and truly price gouged for.

Storm flashed a weak smile. “I can be, if you want.”
Peter raised an eyebrow. Storm turned beet-red.
“I mean. I’m. I didn’t mean that.” Storm huffed and shoved out a hand. “Johnny Storm.”
