Summary
They tell him his name is Edogawa Conan. They tell him he is six years old, that he goes to Teitan Elementary in the day, and then home with the Mouris at night. And he believes them. Why wouldn't he? There's no reason to lie about a six year old's identity.
The first problem is that it doesn't take him very long to start doubting that "Edogawa Conan" was ever a real person in the first place. The second problem is that Conan himself can't remember a single thing about his supposed life.

“Oh, my, a winter wonderland! I wonder if there’ll be any flutterflakes!” Kinger exclaims, excited to see one of his favorite insects.
Jax gives him a look. “…No. I don’t think there are,” he says hollowly.
