Summary
There’s something off about the guy who just walked into Fir’s bookshop, but he can’t quite put his finger on it.

“Good?” asked Fir.
“Reminds me of home.”
In a weird way, it felt like Fir understood. “Where are you from?” Tanner could tell that the question had been on Fir’s mind.
“...You wouldn't believe me if I told you.” Tanner wasn't sure why he wasn’t lying. He didn't like lying to people he cared about, so usually, he’d avoid caring about people he had to lie to. He wanted to care about Fir.
“What? Are you, from, like, another continent? Have you tried literally nothing because you originate from Antarctica?” Fir kept his tone light, but fond.
“You would think I’m delusional.”
“What, are you from Atlantis? Space?” Fir kept his voice quiet, like he knew, and Tanner appreciated that.
Tanner blinked. He averted his gaze.
