Summary
The seconds pass silently, and he only stirs to let out a deep sigh.
It’s been one-thousand, one-hundred, and eighty-three days since their world turned into an apocalyptic hellhole. What that really means, though— his eyes sliding to the page of scribbled numbers and tally marks— is that it’s been one-thousand, one-hundred and nine days since he went missing.
Nick Hayes— or more commonly known to Dream as his nickname and gamertag Sapnap— his best friend since birth. For Dream, that day marked the end of the world as he knew it.
The apocalypse has befallen humanity, infected hordes infest the streets, but the end of the world for Dream started when Sapnap disappeared. But unbeknownst to him, all hope might not be lost. For finding his best friend, and for humanity.
It starts with the boy he stumbles upon in the forest, who pins him to the ground with a gun to his head.

It has Dream turning, face hardly visible in the faint light. “Are you okay?”
No. He wants to scream. No, I miss you. Tell me you miss me too. He swallows thickly, but his voice still shakes. Breaks. “I don’t know.”
“George,” he whispers, knows. He was a fool to think Dream wouldn’t notice as soon as he opened his mouth.
Or,
George is still traumatized from being alone in the UK. He doesn't talk about it, but after a nightmare, he needs to assure himself it's all in his head.
Luckily, Dream is just down the hall.

“Newsflash, sweetheart,” Karl gives a teasing wag of his head as his hands slide up the quarterback’s chest. He admires the way his pink and white painted nails stand out against the black material. “I hate you.”
“Mm,” Sapnap hums, but his grin grows. “Not what you were saying last night.”
Or,
Sapnap is once again dragging Karl to a party. But in retrospect, it's maybe not so terrible. Not when he gets to parade around in his football jacket and mark up his neck to 'ward off other party-goers'. (He just likes to make his claim on his quarterback).
So, no. It's not terrible at all.

Sapnap just looks at him, the orange and black of his suit looking sickly under the harsh florescent lighting. It casts shadows over his features, accentuating his sullen gaze.
Almost instantly, Karl can feel his heart drop. “Sapnap?”
“Karl,” he breathes. Karl steps up to meet him, brows pinching and an ugly, knowing feeling curling in his gut.
This is one of those nights he hates the balcony.
Some nights are harder than others, especially when your boyfriend happens to be Spiderman.
Sometimes, it's not all that great having an apartment with a balcony.

Sapnap’s gaze snaps up to him, heat prickling the back of his neck. “What?”
“If they don’t want you to, they’ll stop you. Then you’ll know the answer.”

George, unfortunately for a distressed Sapnap, is stubbornly insistent to know why he's acting weird.
Sapnap isn't about to tell him about his pathetic crush, on him, until he offers some advice Sapnap can't pass up. He knows it could ruin them, but he takes that chance anyway.

“Do you want to go home?” He questions, leaning close and voice soft, and Will pauses, before nodding again. Mike lets out a breath, and lets his hand press against Will a little more firmly when he starts to sway in place again. “Okay, let’s go.”
Then he looks up and is met with smug faces, and Mike flushes when he realizes his own hypocrisy.
“I don’t talk like that,” Max recalls, voice high-pitched and overly girly and – Mike definitely doesn’t talk like that.
According to everyone in his life, Mike has a voice reserved just for Will. He tries to figure out what that says about him.

Summary
At first, Mike was unsure how to approach him when he got like this. But they’ve been living together for months now, never further than five feet apart in their dorm beds, so Mike’s learned what works and what doesn’t.
It works when he wakes Will like this, with gentle hands and words, telling him he’s safe. It works when he climbs into Will’s warm bed, turning him on his side and curling up against his back, an arm over his waist and his cheek pressed against his shoulder. They lie together like that until Will’s hiccupping gasps soften into steady breaths, until Mike feels him go limp in his arms and he knows he’s fallen back asleep. It always works.
or: Will has nightmares and Mike is the only one who can console him. Not even Will's boyfriend can. Mike takes great pride in this fact.

“Looks like I bit you.” Will tilts his head to get a better look. All Mike can do is stare at him. His fluffy hair at the front, clumped pieces at the back where he’d slid his fingers in a mere few minutes before. His pretty green eyes that look hazel or even brown in this light, the dark circles he gets when he drinks framing them like intricate paintings. A satisfied, bloody smile.
Mike isn’t satisfied. He swallows thickly, choking down the words 'don’t you want more?'
Or: Will dresses as a vampire for a college halloween party, but Mike thinks his costume isn’t bloody enough. Will lets him fix it. Mike goes into a crisis.
