This story is for @Chandyowlet, who was the winning bidder on my 2025 Fandom Trumps Hate fanfic auction. The request was for an exploration of the risks and consequences for gay men serving in the US military in the mid-1990s — peak season of the infamous “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy that resulted in so many dishonorable discharges for the ‘crime’ of being queer. Ash and Tonio burst into my brain to tell their story; I adore these two, and I hope you’ll all enjoy their journey through darkness and toward the light 💛

Post S2, picking up immediately with Aziraphale and the Metatron in the lift to Heaven. But...what if both Heaven and Hell have been getting it wrong all along? What if there's more at stake than just humanity, and the only thing that could possibly save all of Existence is a truly massive miracle...which Aziraphale can't accomplish on his own?

Summary
Aziraphale has always been a little bit of an outsider within their Waddle. With his pale feathers both blending him into the snowy artic world he was hatched into and making him stand out amongst the black feathers of his fellows, he's quite the odd one out indeed.
Thankfully, Crowley has never been one for the conventional. One look at soft beige feathers and his heart's gone. With a little luck and a little effort, he hopes Aziraphale will accept his pebble-filled nest this all-important mating season.
