Summary
Kaz and Inej have been friends for almost as long as they've been colleagues, since as Paralympic and Olympic athletes, they often times attend similar events.
While Kaz is out running errands he gets a text from a mutual friend that Inej injured her ankle pushing herself too hard during practice as she trained for the Winter Olympics, and Kaz isn't aware of himself as he drops his plans and makes his way to her apartment. The recovery period is drawn-out and Kaz finds himself volunteering to be her caretaker. because who better understood her in that moment than the guy who's leg has throbbed in pain his whole life like a second heartbeat?
