You licked your lips, the vanilla aftertaste of the bourbon being a welcome grounding sense to remind you that you were supposed to be playing a game with the two of them. Setting the cool glass down, you tried to imagine what kind of roll you wanted.
The dice and room seemed to lightly spin on you, a pleasing buzz wrapping itself snugly around the back of your mind. Your body was warm—hot, even. It wasn’t until you looked up from your concentrated stare at the dice in front of you that you realized both Volt and Eddie were staring at you.
“Man, live wire. You really can’t hold your liquor, huh?” Eddie asked, though there was a bite of something dark there. He and Volt had drunk their fair share of alcohol as well, though there wasn’t even a hint of slurring in his voice.
You were too drunk to notice the look shared between Eddie and Volt.
