As the mysterious object got closer in sight, Eddie realized in horror that it was a human - the bright red button-up covering a blood-stained white tee, worn by a man who was not moving or even making any noise.

It seemed as if the secretion Eddie’s tentacles released with every move was able to act as a salve for the human, allowing these particular wounds to seal. With his little prior contact with humans, Eddie had no idea this was a possibility, so this discovery felt miraculous with the daunting situation in front of him. After nearly a year goes by without being able to see each other in person, Lindsey and Emily reunite in Atlanta in February of 2021. After spending so long apart, these two oblivious idiots finally find it in them to make a move and admit their feelings for each other.
.“Hi, Linds,” Emily breathed out before closing the distance between them to hug Lindsey tight.
Finally pulling away after a good thirty seconds, Lindsey took a half step back to look directly into Emily’s eyes, and, with all the courage that she had developed over the last hour, asked Emily, “Can I kiss you?”
Emily’s eyes widened in shock before realizing that Lindsey meant this, that she wanted this too, and nodded with a soft smile, too speechless to answer Lindsey’s question with any words. -

“Holy shit! Have you all seen this?!” He yelled out with glee, breaking through the noise of the locker room. Several heads turned to look in his direction. Cameau’s eyes were glued to his phone, and he had an almost manic smile on his face. He continued to swipe down his screen and let out a booming laugh. Hayden caught Shane’s eye and raised his eyebrows in question to gauge whether or not Shane knew what had Cameau so fucking happy. Shane just shrugged and rolled his eyes.
“Are you going to tell us what you’re looking at or just keep laughing like an asshole?” Mitty piped back as he zipped up his bag and threw it over his shoulder. Drapeau walked over to Comeau to glance over his shoulder at this phone, and his eyes almost comically bugged out. He let out a sharp laugh.
“Who would have thought Rozanov was a fucking faggot!” Drapeau exclaimed as he threw his head back.
Shane felt like his heart stopped. The air was suddenly thicker. His vision blurred. He was pretty sure he was about to pass out.
Or, ghosts from Ilya's past make Shane realize he was always going to risk it all for the other man.
