Summary
Winning Prompt: Lance, Keith, and Shiro crash on a planet and it’s kinda Lance’s fault. Shiro has a broken ankle, and even though Lance has a concussion and some burns from getting out of his lion into the flaming brush, he feels so guilty about the crash and hurting Shiro that he doesn’t tell the others. So while he and Keith are carrying Shiro, he just kind of out of nowhere starts to get sick and loopy and nonsensical and then just drops.

Lance’s eyes are threatening to bulge out of their sockets from sheer disbelief. “Dude,” he says, feeling permanent wrinkles etch themselves into his forehead, his extensive, retinol-based skincare routine be damned. “You’ve been my arch-rival this whole time and you hadn’t noticed?”
“We’re not rivals,” Kogane says stubbornly. “We shared a water bottle.”

Lance just waves him off. “Man, I do miss Kaltenecker, ya know, these Earth cows just don’t measure up to her. Other than that, I’m fine. I mean-” He sweeps his arm out towards the fields with a gesture of overexaggerated pride. “I’m a landowner in my twenties! In this economy! I’m living it up down here.”

Lance would feel that familiar heat licking at his cheeks, his neck, and he’d go back to paying attention to the speaker, entirely aware of Keith’s eyes tracing his face, his posture.

The first time it happened, Lotor had just joined them, and Keith had left.
Lance wanted to do his best to replace the red paladin, and among his duties was to act as Shiro's right-hand man.
And the right-hand man's duties were to advise the leader, and Lance was convinced that having Lotor on board was a bad idea.
Too bad for him that Shiro didn't want a right-hand man. He wanted a punching bag.
(Where the clone's threats against Lance were much more physical and the paladin must learn to deal with the consequences.)

Keith grunted, "I just did what you suggested. I stopped fighting."
Shiro smiled, a warm and secret smile, reserved for only two people (and no, Lance wasn't creepy, but it was easy to see how close Shiro was to Keith and Pidge, and how little with the others), "I know it wasn't easy for you. You have managed to control your temper very well."
"Control? I may have killed him in my head at least a dozen times. Does it seem to you that I control my temper?"
Lance's heart sank as he heard him say it, and Shiro sighed, "We're lucky you didn't give in to your violent instincts. We don't have time to look for another blue paladin."
"As if it could be difficult to find a replacement. You've heard Allura, the Blue Lion is the friendlier one. We could take a random guy from the space mall and he would pilot it even better!"
(Just when Lance has decided to confess his feelings to Keith, he overhears a conversation between the red paladin and Shiro. But it's okay, he can pretend nothing happened! Too bad they have to go on missions together, and Keith is starting to suspect something.)
