Summary
The ship lies half-constructed in the bay, recently vacated of construction workers for the evening. Late evening. This project has fostered a bewildering obsession in people. None of them get angry about working overtime. They even volunteer for it, without questioning their superiors about pay. It's unnerving.
(This fic is readable even if you're only familiar with one of the two canons! Or potentially neither, though that's untested territory.)

Summary
The important part is that these woods aren't in the domain of any gods. I mean, yeah, there are those fundamental force-of-nature ones that are connected to everything, but those ones haven't been involved in any conflicts since the really early times, before I existed. The point is, this isn't normal god territory and it isn't anyone's specific domain. I really did my research this time.
Which is why it spooks me so much when the wind carries a whisper to my ear: You were lucky.
