Summary
"I am not dedicated," Kiyoko decides. Coach Ukai's eyebrows fly up. "I am responsible. I do not have the love, but I have the commitment. That's enough for my job."
She watches him, waiting for him to argue or tell her to leave or— something, whatever, she doesn't know. He looks at her like he's trying to dissect a weird organism, like she's odd and unnatural and unfitting in a place like this. Like the jacket around her shoulders is just a costume and her status as a manager is nothing but a feeble name.
In the end, he just sighs, turning his attention back to the court. "You're wasting your time, then."
Kiyoko bites her tongue hard enough to hurt.
