I've read all the social media/epistolary stories I can get my hands on in this fandom, and this is one of the more masterfully done ones to me. So many clever and fun ways of communicating what's happening and painting a picture of Shane and Ilya getting to know each other, falling in love, navigating disaster, and then building a life together.
I can't figure out how to successfully apply the creator's style to a download in Calibre, so this is better as an online read.

Summary
Ilya was good at noticing things about people, and he was good at understanding them. Shane was not. That was okay. Shane had developed his own way of getting to know Ilya. It involved a lot of inane questions and, more importantly, no longer involved condoms.

Such a good Ilya POV as he tries to clumsily settle himself into a relationship with Shane. This story elucidates and advances the relationship through sex, but also the sex is hot without needing to be narratively significant. I love the scenes of them exercising together, and Ilya tying his motivation to Shane's approval. I'm not sure he knows himself well enough here to be a reliable narrator, but the story isn't trying to convince me that he is. Really thoughtful and interesting and hot story!

The Raiders beat the Sharks 6-1 and Rozanov gets three points and the first star of the game and there's no text waiting for Shane about how Shane should be planning the way he's gonna reward Rozanov the next time they see each other.
It's fine. It's only been a week—nine days—and it's not like they were frequent texters before. Rozanov was always the one to initiate their exchanges, so Shane is doing well to follow his lead and not be like that girl who hooked up with J.J. and couldn't catch a hint afterwards, increasingly desperate texts being passed around the Metros locker room until finally someone suggested he block the crazy bitch.
Shane processes his first time with Rozanov.

The aangst! For when I feel like pressing on the bruise of that year when Shane really settles into talking himself into this being the fuckbuddy situation--He believes it's necessary for it to be casual, and he believes Ilya doesn't think about him at all. Really delicious Shane POV.
