    Scratch that. He did cry. No fully fledged waterworks, but a tear or two did fall. Juntae was thankful for the absence of light, spared from Baekjin’s relentless teasing. He’s painfully aware of Seongje’s arm slung behind him, the hairs on his neck standing up at any accidental touch. The next jumpscare has him trembling, the popcorn long discarded and replaced with the blanket he and Seongje are sharing. A hand finds his knee, squeezing tight. Comforting in its own unsure way.

    “You’re okay puppy,” Seongje whispers in his ear. “I’m here.”
