Jyn had always been good - too good - at disappearing. Taking on a different name, a fake identity, a new shell to forget her past. When she is assigned to a moon rife with conflict from repeated attacks on its Rebel outpost, Cassian is left behind on base. And he can't help but wonder...will he become yet another part of Jyn's past that she tries her best to forget?
Then Jyn sent Cassian an audio log while she's away and a tradition was born. Soon Cassian and Jyn are swapping audio logs on a regular basis...even the ones that probably should have been deleted.

The injuries are too great, and Jyn is left trying to keep them together, the Pilot without a hand, a Guardian team that is half alive, half in bacta, a Droid in a new body, and a Captain that stole her heart, and hasn't woken up since. Her own traumas are still fresh, and she struggles to function, to keep going, when it only becomes worse - there's a little girl with Cassian Andor's name, his eyes, and a tiny stuffed droid doll, and all she wants to know is when her Papa will wake, and why he had promised her that Jyn Erso would take care of her.

"Liana Hallik" has information "Ky" needs, and he has a way for her to get off a planet she’s desperately trying to escape from. Cassian thinks Jyn is falling for his charm and his offer to protect her from the thugs out to get her, while Jyn plays to that side of his alias in order to make enough credits to get off-world. Both use the other; both think they’re winning. Goes through the movie and after.

Instead of Cassian kidnapping everyone over the course of a few days as he does in the movie, here he kidnaps (or "recruits") the Rogue One crew for the Rebellion months before, allowing them time to form a team before they have to go rescue Jyn's father.
"This entire setup was to her an absurd luxury. It didn’t matter that there was a Rebellion and an Empire - there had always been those things, and Jyn had not even had this much."

All eyes fall on Jyn. Cassian stares at her with the intensity of a blaster shot, burning in her peripheral vision but Leia looks softer, almost pleading.
Damnit
When Han Solo screws up a supply run, Leia takes it upon herself to clean up his mess and ropes Jyn into a mission on Hosnian Prime, much to Cassian Andor's chagrin. There's no reason for him to worry about her, Jyn thinks. They're definitely just friends after all...but when Solo approaches Cassian with a plan to help, against his better judgment, he can't help but go along with the holo drama his life is turning into...
