“Staring at that for so long can’t be good for you,” comes an amused voice to his left as Anakin blinks the phantom color from his eyes, and he doesn’t need to look to know Rex is crossing his arms and cocking his hip just enough to make his kama shift.
“I thought I dismissed you,” Anakin says, glancing over at Rex to find— there it is, just like he figured, his weight shifted to one side and his arms snug against his chest. His helmet is clipped to his belt and his hair is freshly bleached, not a trace of dark roots in sight.
He’s pretty. Always is, but Anakin doesn’t often have the chance to really look.
“Technically,” Rex says, stepping closer, “you also dismissed yourself.”

When Obi-Wan returns to the Negotiator after the Rako Hardeen incident, he does not receive a warm welcome, especially from Commander Cody, who avoids him like the plague. It takes the unexpected medical consequences of his voice-changing to break the stand-off and remind everyone, especially Cody, of what they still might lose.

Rex was jolted awake out of his impromptu nap by a wild-haired Jedi nearly knocking his door down. His eyes snapped open when the banging started, his hand halfway to his blaster before he registered the familiar voice outside.
He slid his door open, intent on scolding the man for such a rude awakening, when Skywalker scooped him into a hug before he could speak. Skywalker’s shoulders were shaking faintly when Rex’s arms came up to hug him back.
