In this world, the human population is made up of alphas, betas, and omegas. Betas make up the overwhelming majority at 75% of the population, then alphas at 23%, and omegas at just 2%. As humanity’s birth rates increased and stabilized, the biological need for secondary genders declined, and while efforts were made to preserve the alpha gene due to its superior nature, omegas slowly became less and less prevalent in society. Though the general consensus seemed to be that this step in evolution was for the better, the primal desire to care for omegas remained.
