"You're beautiful," she murmured, her voice barely audible over the sound of their racing hearts.
"I have to go." Elphaba's voice was strained as she stepped away from the mirror, her eyes no longer meeting Galinda's. The words hung in the air, a sudden break in the delicate tension that had built between them. She didn't dare look back, afraid of what she might see in Galinda's expression.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Elphaba steeled herself and made her way back to the dorm room. Her hand hovered over the doorknob, heart racing as if it were trying to escape her chest. She took a deep breath and pushed the door open, the hinges groaning softly in protest. The room was dark, the candles she had lit earlier now mere whispers of their former light.
The first thing she noticed was the sound. It was a soft, rhythmic noise that seemed to fill the space, a sound she didn't recognize at first. It took a moment for her eyes to adjust, and when they did, she saw Galinda.

Summary
Fourteen years ago, Glinda made a choice: walk away from her crown or lose the woman she loved. She chose Elphaba—chose a cottage over a castle, chose love over duty, chose a life where her daughters could grow up free from the palace's crushing expectations.
She thought she'd escaped. Thought the distance and years and silence meant she was free. Thought that building a life far from palace walls meant the past couldn't reach her, that love was enough to keep them safe, that choosing happiness once meant she'd never have to choose again.
She was wrong.
Now that choice has come due, and the price is higher than she ever imagined. Her father is dead, and the succession laws she'd thought forgotten have named her daughter—her fourteen-year-old daughter who's never wanted a crown, never asked for this burden—as the rightful heir to a throne Glinda spent fourteen years running from.

Summary
When Elphaba imagined Glinda’s wedding night, she’d naturally imagined that Glinda would spend said night with the groom. Instead, Glinda would much rather spend the most wonderful night of her life with her newly returned, soon-to-be rehabilitated best friend. It only gets gayer and more off course from there.
Canon Divergence — what if Elphaba actually had stayed at the palace after “Wonderful” and Glinda/Fiyero actually got married? How much of 'For Good' is set in stone? Can Elphaba and Glinda come together to stop impending tragedy?
