“No, no, I get it,” Silco continued as he twisted his face away. Vander’s mouth course corrected down his jawline. “You’d rather be handing all our money to Felicia. How can I compete with, what was it? A jack? A jack high? Correct me, you won with that hand?”(Or, Silco is so easy to love.)

Summary
Silco and Vander were friends, once. An alliance born in a secluded clearing, away from the differences they weren't aware they had. Time went on as they grew up, Silco dreaming of nothing but survival and Vander dreaming of nothing but him. It was a childish relationship, that couldn't follow them out of that clearing. Friends, and then something more, and then something less. Silco didn't mean to hurt Vander, he didn't mean to make the man hate him. There was no repairing what happened, their past as marred as Silco's face. But what will happen when they are forced to come together again?
