In November, the air temperature is finally beginning to drop, the humidity is becoming less, and less of an issue every day. George, who’s spent his entire life living in England, has done nothing but complain whenever the weather gets a tad too hot, even now after a year of living in Florida.
Dream hasn’t minded though. It’s become a part of his ritual, to wake up and feed Patches, to walk through the house and make sure the curtains that face the south of the house are closed to keep the warm air outside and the cool air inside.

each year, a boy and girl aged between 12 and 18 are selected from each of the twelve districts. they then get paraded around for the people of the capitol, train for a week, before being thrown into an arena where they must fight to the death.
on the day of the reaping of the 74th annual hunger games, dream finds himself volunteering for these deadly games to save someone he loves dearly.
however, last thing dream expected to find after volunteering for his best friend, was an interest in the pretty district 1 tribute.

"Hi?" he asks, the younger boy clearly just as confused as he is so he's trying his best not to spook him, not to scare him into disappearing. He's certain George is going to check him into hospital if he tries to explain this to him tonight.
"You're me? But older?" is the first thing he says and older Dream chuckles nods, because that is an excellent observation, one he'd completely expect to find leave his younger self's mouth. "I was asleep and now I'm here?"or, dream is thirty now, and one day he walks into his office to find a twenty-three year old man who has an abundance of questions.

"Dream?" he asks, eyes not opening and the other man hums in response, confirming the presence wasn't a fever-induced hallucination. "Come closer."
Dream immediately takes him up on that invitation, their limbs readjusting so the bigger man can hold George in his arms instead, and the brunet feels his heart melt in his chest. Dream pulls George even closer after a while, pulls George's head to his chest and George's leg moves to slot nicely between Dream's.
George feels this has to be a dream, some evil delirious hallucination taunting him with all his wants and needs. He's wanted this for months, years even before he admitted his feelings to his best friend and he's scared, not being able to tell if this is real or not.
or, george's first day in florida is ruined by the fact he's sick, but dream doesn't mind, he's just happy george is finally here.

They glare at each other for a moment, a foot apart, breathing heavily. Both of them are spitting mad, and neither one of them is going to back down. George’s eyes shift to Dream’s mouth for a fraction of a second. (He can feel Dream’s breath. It’s annoying.)
“Why do you have to be so fucking obnoxious all the time,” Dream grits out. It isn’t a question.

Right when he’s talking, Dream rudely interrupts him by surging forward and pressing their lips together.

George has never been adept at making friends. He’s quiet, and he’s well spoken, and the traits that made him every parent’s favourite back in London only served to make him the freak of America. And yet the boy next door, with the golden hair and the charming smile, didn’t seem to care. In fact, he seemed to love how different George was.
Time changes things though, George supposes. The people that once made him feel at home have long since moved on, even if he hasn’t.

Day 7: Tension
“Did he fuck you?” Sapnap said the words as carelessly as he could, but he knew the possession showed in his eyes, glinting darkly as he thought of someone else kissing and touching George. He let go of the hold he had on George’s jaw so he could properly look into his eyes, studying them for hints of an answer.
George faltered for a moment, not knowing why Sapnap was suddenly being so stern. “Why do you care?” George asked, tone sharp but laced with genuine curiosity. Because maybe, though he likely wouldn’t admit it, he wanted to kiss someone to get his mind off the brunet standing right in front of him.

Sapnap and George are friends with benefits, but one night George goes out on a date and comes back with a hickey on his neck. The mark sparks something dark in Sapnap that shouldn't be there if George is just his friend.
