“The night Athena and I finally went on our first date I realized something, and I think it will help you too: once you get out of your own way you start to see everyone and everything in a whole new light,” Bobby said. “One day, I just realized I didn’t need to hold all that guilt, and suddenly it became so clear what was right in front of me.”
Eddie scrunched his eyebrows together, letting that sink in. “Everyone?” he asked out loud after a moment.
Bobby got up, and walked back over to the kitchen, nodding back to Eddie, “Everyone.”
A few minutes later as Bobby got lunch cooking, Buck came bouncing up the stairs to investigate. “Hmmm, what smells so good, Cap?”

Or, Eddie finalize realizes he's in love with Buck, and Buck saves some cats from trees.

Maddie scrunched her face while she figured out what she was going to say. “Buck… I think you’re dating Eddie.”
Buck laughed in surprise. “What? No, I’m not!”

*I changed the title. It used to just be Soulmate fic, but that's such a boring title...*
This is a soulmates fic from Affair Era. Robert finds writing on his arm one day from random notes Aaron leaves on himself. It's not going along fully with the original story, I've taken out the home farm robbery, and a few things else that will happen. But the end result will still be similar, so c'est la vie.

Summary
To be clear, Ilya is grateful the rookies aren’t growing up the way he did in the NHL. Ilya took the hazing to the chin – humiliation rituals, beat downs, grueling practices to prove he could “hang” with the big guns on the team.
That being said, there’s still some part of Ilya that balks at the request by the gaggle of rookies to watch The Iron Giant, a veritable children’s movie at the team’s latest movie night.

“Okay, this is—” Eddie runs a hand through his hair, growing increasingly distressed, “you guys are purposely missing the point here. Buck, I’m not getting high with you, dude.”
“Uh, why not?” Buck asks, tilting his head. He has the audacity to sound genuinely puzzled.
“We can’t. We’re firefighters,” Eddie says, confused that Buck is confused.
Buck gives him a sad smile. “Not right now, we aren’t. And we won’t be, Eddie, not for a while.”
Buck and Eddie get injured on the job and decide to smoke a lot of weed about it.
